THE DISH

Though the French, English, and Spanish all claim to be the original inventors of the dish, the origins of crème caramel are unclear.  It wasn't until the 11th century when sugar cane was brought back to Europe from the Middle East that the original recipe ingredients were used.

Though subtle differences do exist between each countries versions, the French have made it their own by using a mixture of milk and cream, giving this delicious treat a richer and smoother finish.
