Meet the Chefs:

Chef Doris Fin

An award winning international chef based out of Toronto, Doris specializes in Russian cooking, plant-based culinary arts, teaches interactive culinary classes, caters private events, and is currently working on a cookbook where she got to travel featuring food of the world with top chefs and farmers.
Doris’s love for food and fresh ingredients (both exotic & local) began when she was 7 years old. Her fascination with culinary art ignited her passion to create magic in kitchens across the world. By going right to the source of their origin Doris learned about different spices, plants, sauces, grains, sweeteners, and various methods of cooking. She was curious to understand how different dishes were made using the same ingredient and why certain ingredients were better used in some dishes than others. No matter where she discovered food it was very evident that fresh, local and seasonal foods always tasted better.
It’s no surprise Doris promotes eating local and seasonal and supporting local farmers and food growers. Doris’ mission is to inspire and ignite the intuitive inner chef in you so that cooking becomes second nature and an exciting activity, even a passion, rather than obligatory like a chore or just fuel to keep one going like a battery.
Food can keep our lives exciting, bring us pleasure and connect us to each other. Eat real food and allow it to ignite your mind and body with a drive that inspires you to connect to yourself and others. You are what you eat so eat real food and eat with joy and childish glee. You deserve it!
Chef Maria Rozynska
Founder and Owner of Just Be Cooking, and a mother of two young children, Maria Rozynska has taught people how to make traditional Polish food while singing songs from the Polish Highlands for most of her adult life. Why? To preserve her heritages recipes and traditions that may be losing their traditional roots with the passing of older generations, dishes that we have cooked, served and eaten our whole lives.
In April 2017 Maria quit her comfy Educational Sector job to pursue her passion for cooking, teaching and singing. With a Masters Degree in Education and a keen interest in cooking and singing, Just Be Cooking was born. You see, Maria grew up in a Polish household observing her mother, grandmother and great grandmother whip up consistently yummy Polish cuisine picking up generations of knowledge. Not only was the food unbelievable, with their 'can't help but dance to' music and of course vodka, the celebrations always left you with a memory to last a lifetime. Maria wanted to leave people with those memories again, through her events, through her food, through her songs. They were the recipes and songs worth talking about and ones she wanted to spread. Through her cultural cooking school Just Be Cooking, Maria has invited other international chefs from many different backgrounds to do the same in order to break down cultural barriers by uniting, not dividing, through food and song.
Before the time of Covid of course, her hands-on workshops would always finish with a communal meal where guests got to eat their creations, with extra dishes pre-made by the chef. And, oh yeah, you got to kick back and enjoy Live cultural music! Now what could be better than that?!
